Department: Sales

Position: Instrument Specialist - Northeast Region

Territory:  New England

Summary: Sells company products with emphasis on Instrumentation by performing the following duties.

Job Duties:

  • Generates and maintains lists of prospective customers for instrument sales leads.
  • Travels throughout assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers to solicit orders, or for instrument sales.
  • Displays or demonstrates product, using all available and supported Stago tools, and emphasizes salable features.
  • Quotes prices and credit terms and prepares sales contracts for orders obtained.
  • Meets company assigned individual sales goals.
  • Enters new customer data and other sales data for current customers in the Company selected CRM.
  • Develops and maintains relationships and demonstrates an ability to utilize available resources.
  • Demonstrates Instrumentation including setup and breakdown.
  • Generates and maintains an accurate 30-60-90 day sales funnel of prospective customers for instrument sales leads
  • Prepares detailed proposals and financial for instrument and reagent sales, completes IPO's in a correct and timely manner and to facilitate instrument delivery and customer training
  • Maintains accurate records and completes administrative and territory reports on time.
  • Prepares reports of business transactions and keeps expense accounts.
  • Investigates and resolves customer problems with deliveries.
  • Attends trade shows, user groups and symposia.
  • Estimates dates of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of own firm's production and delivery schedules.

Skills:

  • Strong personal computer skills, including knowledge of Contact Management systems, Database Software, Order Processing systems, and MS Office Suite
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers
  • Manages difficult or emotional customer situations; responds promptly to customer needs

Education & Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from four year college or university required
  • Two or more years related experience required; Capital experience preferred
  • Must be able to travel 60% of the time
  • Valid driver’s license

Summary: Sells company products by performing the following duties.

  • Required to meet company assigned sales objectives.

  • Displays or demonstrates product, using samples or catalog, and emphasizes saleable features
  • Responsible for keep account activities and Goldmine up to date.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with purchasing agents.
  • Quotes prices and credit terms and prepares sales contracts for orders obtained.
  • Estimates date of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of own firm’s production and delivery schedules.
  • Prepares reports of business transactions and keeps expense accounts.

Position: Regional Sales Manager

Territory: Northeast Region

Summary:  Manages all sales activities, accountabilities and responsibilities of the region to assure attainment of corporate, business and strategic goals.

Job Duties:

  • Develops and implements sales strategy to achieve business sales and regional market share goals.
  • Defines and implements sales forecast.  Determines, sets, communicates and is accountable for achievement of sales goods.
  • Acts as liaison between sales department and other departments.
  • Meets with key clients, assisting sales representatives with maintaining relationships, conflict resolution, and negotiating and closing deals.
  • Utilizes local knowledge and market analysis to determine customer needs, appropriate pricing and adherence to guidelines.
  • Directs staffing, training and performance evaluations to develop and control sales initiatives.
  • Responsible for administration and adherence of regional expense budget.
  • Works with Sales Business Administrator to monitor and review proposals and financials to ensure accuracy prior to submission to the finance department.
  • Monitors and evaluates the activities and products of the competition and reports findings to Marketing.
  • Reinforces consultative selling principles in daily field work.
  • Delivers sales presentations to key clients in coordination with sales representatives.
  • Represents the company at trade association meetings to promote product.
 Skills:
  • Strong personal computer skills, including knowledge of MS Office & database software.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations. 
 Education & Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree four-year college or university required.
  • Minimum five years related experience. Management experience preferred.
  • Must be able to travel 60% of the time.
  • Valid driver’s license.
